The Cape!

We rented Sparky, our red Chevrolet, for a few weeks to see what The Cape had to offer outside of our little neighborhood in the Strand. We were blown away, literally and figuratively by its beauty. (The Cape is extremely windy this time of year.)

One of our first drives with Sparky was southwest along the coastline towards the Cape of Good Hope. On this drive we hit Simons Town and walked amongst African penguins. Their duck-like feet, hunched posture and two-legged human waddle would put a smile on anyone’s face. After Simons Town we took the toll road over Chapman’s Peak. This drive is known for its beauty and is featured in many car commercials here. Seems like South Africas version of Highway 1 in California—although I have yet to drive it.

There is no point in me trying to describe this beautiful area of South Africa to you. I wouldn’t be able to workup the correct adjectives to paint the colors and landscapes just so in your minds eye. Instead I’ll use my favorite part of this blog—the photos—to do the talking. Besides, isn’t a picture supposed to be worth 1000 words?
