One of our first drives with Sparky was southwest along the coastline towards the Cape of Good Hope. On this drive we hit Simons Town and walked amongst African penguins. Their duck-like feet, hunched posture and two-legged human waddle would put a smile on anyone’s face. After Simons Town we took the toll road over Chapman’s Peak. This drive is known for its beauty and is featured in many car commercials here. Seems like South Africas version of Highway 1 in California—although I have yet to drive it.
There is no point in me trying to describe this beautiful area of South Africa to you. I wouldn’t be able to workup the correct adjectives to paint the colors and landscapes just so in your minds eye. Instead I’ll use my favorite part of this blog—the photos—to do the talking. Besides, isn’t a picture supposed to be worth 1000 words?

You are sooo right… it is beautiful. I hate cold water. And you sent Chris to test the water!

Me too Dad. It’s a pity, the water looks so beautiful and refreshing but I can only stick my big toe in.

That is a friend of ours Annemeik, not me.
But I could have put the camera on my tripod and then used my wireless remote. It was mighty windy for that though.

Thanks Michael! We really didn’t either, guess the Atlantic keeps them cool enough this time of year.
